Economists Speak at Pinnacle

Professor Antony Davies and Dr. James Harrigan spoke to high school students at Pinnacle Classical Academy on March 29 about the interaction of our nation's founding principles with economics.

Dr. Davies is associate professor of economics at Duquesne University, the Milton Friedman Distinguished Fellow at the Foundation for Economic Education. He has written a book on understanding statistics, and written hundreds of op-eds for the Wall Street Journal and other newspapers. His YouTube videos on economics, government, and policy have garnered millions of views.

Dr. Harrigan is Senior Editor at the American Institute for Economic Research. Dr. Harrigan was previously Dean of the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani, and later served as Director of Academic Programs at the Institute for Humane Studies and Strata, where he was also a Senior Research Fellow. He has written extensively for the popular press, with articles appearing in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, and other outlets.

Dr. Davies and Dr. Harrigan are co-hosts of the Words & Numbers podcast and co-authors of Cooperation & Coercion.

Located in Shelby, Pinnacle Classical Academy is a free public charter school that attracts 1,077 students from five counties. Pinnacle students' proficiency rate on state tests exceeds that of all 115 of the state's local school districts, and the 31 seniors in the class of 2022 have already been offered a combined $2,685,720 in four-year scholarship awards.
